Georges Seurat Biography: Unlike the use of broad brushstrokes employed by the Impressionists Seurat along with his followers developed a style of paintings
that relied on small dabs and dots of pure primary and secondary colored pigments. The result was something akin to an image produced by photolithography a style which became known as Pointillism.
In his all too brief lifetime he produced 1 major work for each of the 7 years that he painted and in total 500 drawings and 40 paintings.
Died: March 29, 1891
