Theodore Robinson Biography: Although he was born in New England he was raised in Wisconsin. He was just one of the many American painters who flocked to Giverny to be near Monet, with whom he developed a close relationship. He was primarly an impressionist landscape painter although he did some figurative work especially early in his career.
