Man Ray Biography: He was born Emmanuel Radnitzky in Philadelphia but his parents moved to Brooklyn in 1897. In 1912 he moved to Ridgefield, New Jersey where he tries to start and artist colony after viewing the 1913 Armory Show. He starts his art career in advertising. In 1915 he met Marcel Duchamp in Ridgefield. After he moves to Paris in 1921 where he receives many portrait commissions.
Died: November 18, 1976
