Berthe Morisot

Born: August 19, 1841
City and Country of Origin: Bourges, France
Painting School: Impressionists
Art Training: Studied along with her sister Edma in Passy with Geoffroy-Alphonse Chocarne and then Joseph Guichard. She then studied from 1862-68 with Camille Corot. However it was in 1868 that Fantin-Latour introduced her to Edouard Manet who had the greatest impact on her work as an artist
Exhibitions: Exhibited at the Salon from 1864-73 after which she exhibited in the Impressionist shows.

Major Works: "The Cradle"
Berthe Morisot Biography: She posed several times for Manet with whom she is believed to have been romantically attached. She eventually married his brother.
Died: 1895
