Ernest Lawson Biography: There is some confusion as to where he was born. Some say Kansas City, some San Francisco and still others say Canada. He was a member of the art group known as "The Eight" or "Ashcan School." Unlike the other members of the group who were social realists Lawson painted mostly urban landscapes.
Died: 1939
