Jethro Tull Biography: The Jazz/Blues group Jethro Tull took their name from an eighteenth agriculturist. They started out in the late '60s and continued turning out top songs well into the '70s. Their debut album "This Was" was released in late '68. The group was led by flautist guitarist singer songwriter Ian Anderson. Strangely they finally won a Grammy in 1988 as, of all things, a Heavy Metal band.
