Orazio Gentileschi Biography: He started work, like his father, as a goldsmith. By around 1580 he became a figure artist, adding figures into another
artist's landscape frescoes in Roman churches. Like Caravaggio he was a naturalist. He worked for the Duke of Savoy and later for
Marie di Medici. He then left Italy to become court painter for Charles I of England.
Died: 1639
