Comments: He was the son of a concert musician and in 1887 went to Germany to hone
his skills on the violin. Instead, he turned to art. From 1893 to 1907 he worked as an illustrator. From 1906 to
1908 he lived in Paris where he was introduced to the more avant garde side of the art world. He developed
a style based on Cubist fragmentation. .
