His earliest style was Impressionistic
but by 1906 he had adopted the style of the Fauvists. After 1909 he worked together with Pablo Picasso to develop the Cubist
style of painting. After he was wounded in World War I he left the military and began a close friendship with Juan Gris.
After the late 1920s his work once again became more realistic. Died: August 31, 1963
