the Art Institute of Chicago in 1933; MoMA organized a retrospective in 1946; he became a member of the Royal Academy of London in 1940 and in 1966 they organized a large exhibitionof his work

Pierre Bonnard Biography: He studied law in 1887 but switched to art the following year. Bonnard painted quiet serene scenes often of his favorite model whom he one day would marry at the bath. His work is known
for his bright rich colors. He was also a poster designer, lithographer and illustrator.
