Aerosmith Biography: The group was formed when Steven Tyler met guitarist Joe Perry while working in an ice cream parlor in Sunapee, New Hampshire during the summer of 1970. Originally Tyler played the drums, but by the end of the summer he would become the lead vocalist. The initial group consisted of Tyler, Perry, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford. The band performed the Beatles tune "Come Together" in the movie Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. By the end of the seventies Joe Perry and Brad Whitford left the band. They were replaced by guitarists Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay. Perry and Whitford rejoined the group in 1984. The group cemented its place as America's most enduring rock band when they noticed the trend toward rap when they joined with Run D.M.C.on the video and recording of "Walk This Way."
